Para-Educators deserve recognition!

Comprehensive System of Personnel Development Region I (CSPD) would like to join the other regions in the state in honoring paras and para/teacher teams.

Please consider filling a nomination form out for the para, that you consider goes above and beyond the call or is a natural when working with students.

There is also a category for para/teacher teams.  Sometimes you have a group that just clicks along and is incredibly effective in assisting each other and the students as well.

Winners will receive free registration to the Council for Exceptional Children's Conference to be held in Billings On April 13-15, 2011. Travel, lodging, and meals will be paid.  Winners will also be recognized at the luncheon on April 14, 2011.

Please download the form/forms and fill out the appropriate information and email them back to me at cspd.r1@gmail.com

Yes I Can!!

This award was started by the Council for Exceptional Children in 1981 to acknowledge the achievements of children and youth with disabilities.  Please think about the children with disabilities that you work with and single out the one who has made progress in any of these areas:

  • Academics
  • Arts
  • Athletics ( to include motor skills)
  • Community Service
  • Employment
  • Extracurricular Activities
  • Independent living Skills
  • Technology
  • Self-Advocacy

Don't be daunted by the application!  Please complete the first page of the nomination form.  If we need more information we'll call you.

Most of these students don't get recognition for the progress they've made.  There's often no honor roll or athletic awards on their horizon. This is their opportunity.

The student, his/her parent(s) and teacher will be invited to attend the Thursday April 14, 2011 luncheon at the Council for Exceptional Children Conference to be held in Billings. Travel, lodging, and meal costs will be paid by CSPD.  We would appreciate one vehicle per group.

Please download the form listed below.  Fill out the appropriate information and email back to me at cspd.r1@gmail.com
